The Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act defines Sustainable Development as: “The process of improving the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of Wales by taking action, in accordance with the sustainable development principle, aimed at achieving the well-being goals.” This is the foundation on which Tetrim Teas is built. From here we will: 1. Develop the best product we can at every stage of our process. 2. Identify ethical and local supply chains. 3. Work with (employ and encourage our partners/suppliers to employ) those with barriers to employment. 4. Develop ethical and natural products that we believe in. 5. Have science and data behind everything we do. 6. Keep innovating, both the product range, packaging and delivery, supply chain and business structure. 7. Aim to develop a zero-carbon whole business. 8. Contribute positively to overall well-being.

Our environment

Sustainability is at the heart of Tetrim Teas, it's engrained in everything we do. We are proud to ethically craft well-being tea blends using natural locally sourced ingredients to support local businesses and the economy. Our mission is to work with farmers and growers in Wales to develop products with linked health benefits. Our packaging has been conscientiously designed using recycled card, ink and foil to wrap our biodegradable tea bags. Tetrim Teas is proud to be Good Market approved, working together to create an economy that is good for the people and planet.

Our Community

As a not-for-profit business our local communities are important to us. We have established a weekly 'Tŷ Te' group, where two groups meet weekly for an opportunity to chat in Welsh, interesting talks, and well-being support; over a cup of well-being tea. We are also working with the village school's eco committee, where the children are growing tea plants and will be making their own tea from their plants. We also reuse our recycled tea sampling cups, givint to local schools and projects for their garden projects. We love involving the community in our tea business, they are part of selecting flavours, consumer testing and clinical trials. Our tea is blended at the local community centre at the heart of the village.

Our People

We aim to go above and beyond for our Tetrim Teas team, to create a positive, sustainable community within our business. We value our team and they are encouraged to contribute with decision-making and branching out into areas of interest to them. We champion the use of the Welsh language at Tetrim Teas and are proud to be a real Living Wage accredited employer.

Our Future

We are pleased to have received funding which has enabled us to open three mushroom growing units based in local communities across Wales - Trimsaran (Carmarthenshire), Penparcau (Ceredigion) and Bethesda (Gwynedd). Lion's Mane mushroom is a main ingredient in two of our tea blends and we now able to grow our own mushrooms, with profit share to each community and reducing our food miles. Along with Lion's Mane mushroom we will grow Wood Oyster and Shiitake mushrooms. We appreciate the funding and support from Arfor Cronfa Her Fawr, Cynnal y Cardi and Trimsaran Community Council. We are working in partnership with Madarch Cymru/The Mushroom Garden and Celobury PM.
